Comments: Hi again, I served on Carver from the new construction in 65 to 68 when I left the Navy. I did three patrols with the Gold Crew with changes in Rota Spain. Now the year is Mar 2014 and I've just been diagnosed with asbestos lung disease. Never touched the stuff except for the new construction when the boat was built. I lost a wife to this 20 years ago, but thought I had escaped it. I wonder if other former crewmembers have made this same grim discovery?
